Coaching begins with an initial consultation, which is free of charge. This fitness consultation usually takes 45 minutes and allows you to meet your coach and be evaluated. At this time the coach will gather the information needed for program design and recommendation of personal training packages. Your coach may decide to go over items like your goals, diet journal, current exercise routine, hobbies, occupation, previous athletic experience, previous or current injuries, allergies, and current body composition.
In your first session, you and your coach will go through your new program in detail. The body composition and movement evaluation will take you through a series of exercises and movements. At Mecca, we do this with every client to evaluate skill level, kinesthetic awareness, proprioception, joint integrity, muscular imbalances, muscular hyper/hypotension, form, and technique. This allows the trainer to properly program what exercises are best suited for you.
After the movement evaluation, your coach will sit down with you to discuss the final program in detail. This is to make sure both you and your coach agree on expectations for future sessions. Because diet is such an important component to meeting fitness goals, you will be taught to accurately track macro and micronutrients. You will be expected and encouraged to adhere to your exercise guidelines and track your progress. Proper documentation will allow you and your coach to alter your program as needed in the future. You will have direct access to your coach for any questions and concerns you have.
