Training Philosophy
Mike has spent over 40 years in the strength and conditioning arena, and has been a physical therapist and CSCS for nearly 30 years. Mike is a United States Marine, former D1 strength and conditioning coach, professional strongman and powerlifter (2004 US LW Strongman National Champion, 2005 WBC Powerlifting World Championship Silver Medalist.) Mike has rehabbed 1000’s of athletes and helped tens of thousands of clients regain form and function post injury and surgery. As a Health and Wellness Coach Mike is trained as an accoutabitlity partner and provides expertise in guiding clients in creating sustainable and lasting change. Mike also hosted the Power Hour podcast on Rx Muscle, was a sports announcer at the Arnold Classic and the Mr. Olympia and is a professional musician. Mike’s training philosophy is based on research, personal experience and philosophy, “Research shows that only 10% of people that commit to a goal on their own are successful. That number jumps to 95% with an accountability partner. Nietzsche said – if you know the why you can live any how. People who have a stated purpose in life, live 7 years longer than those that do not. So, in the words of Marcus Aurelius – let no act be done without a purpose nor otherwise than according to principles which perfect the art of living.
